Retrospective Tiles (Architectural Ceramics)

 Negative Tile
These retrospective tiles are designed to raise awareness of the Tsunami disaster in Japan 2011 and console all concerned.

As the times goes by, the tragedy has been overshadowed and we all begin to think that it was over.
 Positive Tile
However a lot of people are still missing and the serious issues haven’t been solved such as unclear accident that was caused by Tsunami.
Therefore, these tiles were made to appeal to a lot of people and send its hidden message.

In terms of the perception of victims, the motif is not provocative but simple and serene. This design approach is the result of a gradual process of abstraction like Art Nouveau tiles. I started with the actual water ripple and pared away inessential detail until only the most characteristic circle lines were left. These two positive and negative tiles help to accentuate the façade, a visually striking element of any walls.

Profit & Loss (Experiment)

Manifesto "Profit & Loss"

These are cast-pieces of wall-art for the contemporary home, which is called "Flatback".
This project focuses on my own identity - how I frame myself and how it directs my idea and personal vision. Manifesto is a primary form of expression for artists and designers, as a way of them publicising their own brand values.

"Profit & Loss"
Glazed earthenware

In the new economy, people are showing more tendency toward a profit-and-loss account.
Whatever we are doing, we tend to unconsciously put this into practice.
As the criterion for our life seems to become how much money you make, I decide to express the idea on human faces. Besides, I made the design simple and inorganic, because the profit-and-loss account is logical on the one hand, but also lack of the personal touch on the other.
